Trash Removal
Rumpke Waste & Recycling is the waste hauler for pickup of household waste and recyclables within the Village.   Their collectors will pick up your trash next to your home or garage;  there is no need to haul trash to the curb.  Trash must be bagged and not loose. Maximum of 10 bags/household/week. Recyclables must be placed in blue recycling bags and will be picked up at the same time as trash. Boxes must be broken down. If possible to place in recycling bags, please do so.

Rumpke may be reached at (800) 828-8171 .  Online, here are links for curbside recycling guidelines, to request service or look up their holiday schedule.

The Village does not offer yard waste pickup.  However, the Service Department periodically holds drop-off events for Electronic Equipment Recycling, Residential Hazardous Waste Material drop-off, and Shredding.  Watch the Village of Gates Mills website or the Pink Sheet, the official newsletter for the Village for announcements of upcoming events.

Roadside Parking:

Roadside parking is prohibited throughout the Village except where posted, such as in the business district or on Old Mill Road near the Hunt Club.  An exception is that a resident may park in front of his own property and may allow others to do so, for special events, as long as it does not create a hazard to others using the roadway.  We encourage you to notify the Police Department in advance of these occasions.  During the winter season, we urge special care for on-street parking so that you do not impede the plowing of roadways.
