Join us at the Gates Mills Library for a discussion of "The Round House" by Louise Erdich. When his mother, a tribal enrollment specialist living on a reservation in North Dakota, slips into an abyss of depression after being brutally attacked, 14 year old Joe Coutz sets out with his three friends to find the person that destroyed his family.
Event Listing - Tuesday Book Discussion
Join us at the library for a discussion of "An American Plague: The True and Terrifying Story of the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793" by Jim Murphy. This book has received numerous awards including a Sibert Medal, a Newbery Honor, and designation as a national Book Award Finalist. It recreates the devastation rendered tot he city of Philadelphia in 1793 by an incurable disease known as yellow fever, detailing the major social and political events as well as the time's medical beliefs and practices. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Many of us have collections of family photos, letters, diaries and scrapbooks. We will have an Archivist and Records Analyst from Cuyahoga Community college come to the Gates Mills Branch Library t share how small changes in storage and handling can help preserve your memories.

In our version of the Wizard of Oz, we see our witch in a different light as she rights all her wrongs as we draw her, make her speak, and watch her make the Emerald City into the Ruby Red City. Event Listing - Whooo's Ready for School? Kindergarten Readiness-Alphabet
Children ages 4-5 with a caregiver are welcomed to the library to help your preschooler make the transition into their first year of school. Explore hands-on activity stations together. This program will focus on exploring the alphabet.

Allow Dr. Fizz to take you on an interesting exploration of science and story at the library! Before there was science, people used stories to explain everything from why giraffes have long necks to why humans live longer than many other animals. we will explore the scientific theories behind fascinating natural phenomena as well as how people around the world have explained the same phenomena for centuries.
Event Listing - Wednesday Night Book Discussion
Join us for a discussion of "Coming Clean: A Memoir" by Kimberly Rae Miller. This memoir is about growing up in a family of extreme hoarders. It describes how the author's childhood home in Long Island hid rat-infested stacks of her father's collections and how the family's emotional burden led to the author's suicide attempt and her against-all-odds bond with her parents. Everyone is welcomed to attend this discussion.
