When his mother, a tribal enrollment specialist living on a reservation in North Dakota, slips into an abyss of depression after being brutally attacked, 14 year old Joe Coutz sets out with his three friends to find the person that destroyed his family.

Join us at the library for a discussion of "An American Plague: The True and Terrifying Story of the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793" by Jim Murphy. This book has received numerous awards including a Sibert Medal, a Newbery Honor, and designation as a national Book Award Finalist. It recreates the devastation rendered tot he city of Philadelphia in 1793 by an incurable disease known as yellow fever, detailing the major social and political events as well as the time's medical beliefs and practices. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Many of us have collections of family photos, letters, diaries and scrapbooks. We will have an Archivist and Records Analyst from Cuyahoga Community college come to the Gates Mills Branch Library t share how small changes in storage and handling can help preserve your memories.
