Event Listing - Tuesday Book Discussion

Join us at the library for a discussion of "An American Plague: The True and Terrifying Story of the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793" by Jim Murphy. This book has received numerous awards including a Sibert Medal, a Newbery Honor, and designation as a national Book Award Finalist. It recreates the devastation rendered tot he city of Philadelphia in 1793 by an incurable disease known as yellow fever, detailing the major social and political events as well as the time's medical beliefs and practices. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Students 11-14 years old are invited to the Gates Mills Library for a great two day workshop. Green isn't a wicked color! In our version of the Wizard of Oz, we see our witch in a different light as she rights all her wrongs as we draw her, make her speak, and watch her make the Emerald City into the Ruby Red City. Join us for two days of great digital animation adventures, tricks, tips, and storytelling! Bring your flash drive if you'd like to save your movies.
